Tougher competition among job seekers

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, it was a candidate’s market, with record low unemployment and more positions available than active job seekers. The landscape has shifted and the number of applicants per job continues to increase in key high-demand industries. 

Bright spots of job growth 

There was a 60% increase in job postings in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota and Iowa. 

Where are the jobs?  

The top industries hiring now include healthcare, management, sales, transportation and technology.

The top employers hiring now include EntryLevelCrossing (job matching), C.R. England (trucking), CRST International (freight and logistics), CVS Health, Wendy’s and Amazon.
