CareerBuilder continues to update and advance the search features and functionality of Resume Database to help you save time—and find the right talent—at no additional cost. The following search features allow you to broaden your search when you need to be more inclusive, narrow results to the perfect candidate, identify the most active users with the highest likelihood of responding or a combination of these things. Here are a few we’d like to highlight:
What does it do: Applies related terms to each term you search to broaden the relevant results you receive.
When should you use it: Use semantic search when you want to include all relevant talent in your search or when you may not know a job titles related terms, skills or keywords to build a Boolean string.
You no longer have to be a Boolean expert to uncover all the candidates qualified for a job. Semantic search, our most recently added feature , automatically adds related terms to each term you search for, including job titles, skills and other keywords. For example, if you search Customer Service Representative, you will also get results that include CSR, CCR, Customer Support and Member Service to name a few. And it’s customizable. You can remove or add related terms to ensure the search fit your needs.
Early results show when semantic search is enabled, you receive, on average, twice as many candidate results.
What do they do: Filters allow you to refine your results to the specific candidate(s) you’d like to contact.
When should you use it: Apply filters whenever you have a requisition with specific requirements or when you want to identify the most active talent.
Resume Database offers over 15 filters to help you control which candidates appear in your view.
In addition to traditional categories—including salary, years of experience and industry—we also offer Freshness Filters. These filters identify candidates who are active on the CareerBuilder site based on the last time they updated their resume or profile and applied for a job. The more active the candidate, the more likely they are to respond.
What does it do: Radius search allows you to target talent located in or around a specific city or zip code.
When should you use it: Use radius search when you are looking for talent close to a specific location. This is especially helpful for retail clients with multiple locations.
Nearly 65 percent of candidates say they first thing the research about a job is its location. With our radius search, you can target talent in a specific location and attract candidates, who are searching for jobs near their homes. Simply enter a city or zip code and search the surrounding radius in five-mile increments.
The Resume Database search features allow you to be in control of your search and find the right candidate faster.
